Weddings at Herons Farm

 

We absolutely love weddings - there's nothing we like better than assisting you to achieve the look, feel and ambience of the wedding reception of your dreams, and we strive to help you to create an event which is personal to you both. You can look forward to your family and friends joining you in this remarkable place to celebrate your special day, confident that it will be memorable and hugely enjoyed by all. This beautiful and romantic tythe barn is flanked by stables and stable cottages, and the setting is amongst courtyards, gardens, woods and paddocks, making it an exquisite, unique and unusual backdrop for a memorable country wedding reception. Suitable for an informal 'Summer garden party' style reception, or a more formal and chic celebratory event, the interior of the barn looks gorgeous when decorated and its quirky features such as the oak beams and pillars when embelished with flowers, gauzes and garlands create a truly romantic setting, and the grounds can be set out to different spacifications.

 

A walled garden frames the north edge of the side garden where large flat lawns are surrounded by trees, fields and flower borders. When dotted with garden tents and gazebos it is a lovely option for an al fresco summer wedding. We  make the farm's own array of summer garden furniture available to you for the lawn areas, and you can choose more formal table arrangements for dining if you wish. 

Imagine yourselves being chauffeur driven to your reception through a private tree lined avenue, then sweeping into the circular driveway in front of the charming red bricked farm house, finally to stop by the wrought iron courtyard gates to be greeted by your guests, who have been enjoying Devon cream teas from mixed vintage china teacups whilst awaiting your arrival. Imagine too, lawn games being played till dusk until the garden lights come on as people relax and drink in the atmosphere of your wedding. Unforgettable!

Then taking a private moment away from the merry throng to sip something cold and sparkling whilst you both watch the sun go down over the rolling meadows, horses softly grazing in a paddock nearby.
Overnight accommodation for you both is within the farmhouse B&B, cottages or barn conversion allows you to bid family and friends farewell at the end of your wedding celebrations and you can retire in peace and walk across the lawn or courtyard to bed.

Other Parties and Celebratory Events

Parties are especially popular at Heron's Farm, where facilities enable you to produce and present a very special day for your friends and family. We will design a package to suit your needs, by catering for any diet or budget. You can select from cost effective 2 hour DIY or catered for childrens events (with or without pony rides), to afternoon teas and cold sandwich or buffet lunches similar to our business lunches, right up to a full 3 course farmhouse cooked meal, or an elaborate banquet suitable for a special anniversary, christening or birthday celebration.
